MANILA, Philippines - The Transportation department on Friday said it will temporarily use the services of Stradcom for Land Transportation Office's (LTO) IT system until a new contractor is chosen.

This comes after the bidding process for a new service provider is yet to be completed despite the February 10 expiry of Stradcom's contract with the LTO.
"[Tapping Stradcom services is] to ensure the continuity and non-disruption of services to the public... while the evaluation process for the procurement of a new contractor is still underway," the local agency said in a statement.

DOTC said it will be procuring Stradcom's service for eight months to avoid reverting back to manual operation.
