MANILA, Philippines - The Makati Regional Trial Court ruled to move the hearing between the Department of Transportation and Communications and the shareholder of MRT Corp. to February 13, as the DOTC did not file their response to the court's order.

During the proceedings on Friday morning, DOTC spokesman Michael Sagcal argued it was only given 15 days to file a comment to the order, so the hearing should take place on the 16th day from its filing.

On January 29, MRT Holdings 2 filed for a temporary restraining order to stop the DOTC from acquiring 48 train cars from a Chinese company to expand the MRT-3's capacity.

Sagcal said both parties are expected to present their witnesses to the court, when the legal proceedings continue next week. - ANC
