MANILA, Philippines - After crossing the 6,400-mark on Monday, shares rallied anew and finished close to the 6,500 level on Tuesday, marking the 15th record high for the year.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index gained 0.54% or 34.51 points to close at 6,470.49, while the broader all-shares index finished 0.31% or 12.42 points higher at 4,053.34.
The PSEi's most recent finish is already 11% above the 5,812.73 recorded during the last trading day of 2012.
All sub-indices were in the green, except for property companies which shed 0.51% or 13.49 points to 2,610.21.
Total volume traded on Tuesday reached 4.09 billion shares worth P9.57 billion.
Advancers led decliners 87-84, while shares of 48 firms remained unchanged.
Top gainers were led by IT firm Touch Solutions, Inc. (+48.61%), Lorenzo Shipping Corp. (+19.23%), and San Miguel Pure Foods Company, Inc. (+14.04%).
Losers, meanwhile, were led by Jolliville Holdings Corp. (-18.43%), Swift Foods, Inc. - Convertible Preferred (-11.56%), and Omico Corp. (-9.38%).
