SSS opens calamity relief package for 'Agaton' victims

MANILA, Philippines - The Social Security System unveiled a new calamity relief package for those affected by tropical depression "Agaton" in Mindanao.

The relief package will provide immediate access to funds needed for food, healthcare and other necessities.

The SSS explained members with damaged homes can get affordable loan terms and apply for three-month advance pensions.

Pensioners are urged to file their application before April 30 this year.

Covered by the program are areas placed under a state of calamity during Agaton's onslaught earlier this month.This includes Lanao del Norte and Agusan del Norte provinces, Iligan and Butuan.

-Tagum in Davao del Norte
