MANILA, Philippines - In any business enterprise, if the element of FUN is absent, success is difficult to attain.
Ask any entrepreneur and often than not, the word FUN is present. No matter whatever challenges or obstacles are along the way, solutions can be achieved if there is FUN.
My wife Lyndah and I never realized that our business, which is mentoring entrepreneurs, is already 21 years old. It seemed like yesterday when we started our business in our living now, and we enjoyed every minute of it.
Having published our 6th book “Is Franchising For You” was FUN, and even more when we were awarded “Book of the Year for 2012” by the National Book Development Board and the Manila Critique Circle.
Seeing various clients become super brands, speaking before top companies during their annual conferences, as well as traveling around the country and abroad, was also FUN.
Here are some pointers in creating FUN in your business:
Start identifying the plus points of the business.
Why don't you look back at the good old days? Recall how the business began, and even laugh at how the employees look like in those days. I remember our business started in the living room of our house. There was no office table except the coffee table with the old model 386 computers with the green monitor. There was so much improvement as the years went by.
Build and rebuild the strong character of the business.
It is easy to see the weakness of the business. However what is challenging is to seek the strength, which the business is made of. Oftentimes, it may be forgotten as the years go by. Take time and blow away the dust.
FUN in the business lessens the stress.
The head of the company as well as everybody must maintain and sustain the FUN. This will liven the atmosphere of achieving positive results. The word “TEAM” stands as Together Everybody Achieves More.
In fact working in a lively environment minimizes intrigues and other office politics. There are entrepreneurs who even organize a time to unwind. Japanese companies are known in implementing the habit of having a break in the form of some exercise.
Look forward with excitement as each day begins.
Envision things to do for each day, prioritizing those which are important. Keeping a small notebook is helpful in jotting down ideas as they pop up.
The Philippines is one place where despite difficulties may be omnipresent, Filipinos always find time to smile and even laugh to their heart’s content.
No wonder oftentimes, a Filipino’s age can be deceiving compared to his counterparts abroad.
Imagine, today is already end of January and we are left with just eleven months to go before 2014 comes to an end.
Ever looked back to see how you have enjoyed the past days? Avoid wasting your precious time on nonsense things; every second counts in making your business a SUCCESS! Live life to the fullest, be responsible stewards of nature and spread goodwill to all.
