MANILA – Cedric Lee, who admits taking part in the mauling of actor Vhong Navarro, is now under investigation by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

BIR Commissioner Kim Henares said the agency often checks on personalities involved in big controversies.

Based on a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) report, Lee owns 14 companies.

"Magsisinungaling naman ako kung hindi ko sasabihing curious ako kung nagbabayad ba itong taong ito ng tamang buwis, kasi sabi niya marami siyang negosyo," said Henares.

A document obtained by ABS-CBN, meanwhile, revealed Lee has been dealing with officials from the Philippine National Police, mostly in agriculture and mining businesses.

Lee even went into four businesses with Tyrone Ong, who was linked to the Euro-general scandal in 2008 as the source of the money brought by former police director Eliseo de la Paz in Russia.
