3 Pinoy firms among top ASEAN businesses in China

MANILA – Three Philippine companies have been recognized by the China-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) as among the top 10 ASEAN enterprises entering China.

SM Prime Holdings, Liwayway Group, and Guangxi Fil-Dragon Real Estate Development Ltd. were awarded for their contribution in enhancing ASEAN-China economic relations and for promoting investments as well as the Philippine brand in China.

SM Prime Holdings is the developer and operator of five SM malls in China.

Liwayway Group is the manufacturer of Oishi products. Its president, Larry Chan, was also recognized as one of the 5 outstanding ASEAN entrepreneurs doing business in China for 2013.

The awarding ceremony, which was held on January 7, was attended by Filipino and Chinese officials, including Philippine Ambassador to China Erlinda Basilio and Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Panhua Group Li Xinghua.
