Lopez Group Chairman Emeritus Oscar Lopez, speaking at the book launch of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile's autobiography, said people must never turn their backs on history.
"The lessons of Martial Law must be continuously taught, nurtured, never forgotten," Lopez said on Thursday night.
On why ABS-CBN, which was shut down under Martial law, published Enrile book, Lopez said the reason is "not easy to understand."
"Perhaps, in passage of time I try to view things from many perspectives," he said, adding that he and Enrile were classmates in Harvard University.
"ABS-CBN published Enrile's memoir in line with its role of informing people about the past. I urge you to read from cover to cover," Lopez said. - ANC
