MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino's anti-corruption campaign seems to be on the right track, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
The poll shows that 7 out of 10 businessmen see less corruption now, compared to the past administration.
And the difference, according to the SWS, was radical.
"The big winner is the Office of the President. It went to +81 or excellent, from a -37 which is bad, completely reversed itself," SWS president Mahar Mangahas said told ANC Top Story on Tuesday.
Sixteen other government institutions also improved their ratings.
But the Supreme Court and the Commission on Elections suffered a slight dip in their ratings.
"Out of 20 institutions, 17 improved. Even the ones negative are no longer negative. There's no more very bad," Mangahas said.
"There's only 1 bad, and that's the Bureau of Customs," he added.
For Malacañang, the survey shows business leaders recognize the Aquino administration's relentless drive against corruption.
And in the eyes of the business community, good governance is good economics, the Palace says.
