HOLLYWOOD, California -- To once again save the world from evil forces, international star Milla Jovovich returns as Alice, the brave heroine of "Resident Evil: Retribution.” This time, Alice is reunited with some familiar faces from the "Resident Evil" movie series.
"It's just so much bigger in so many ways,” Jovovich said of the fifth installment in the series, in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News.
“Between the stunts, the set pieces, the 3D -- we have brand new 3D cameras so the quality is so much better,” she added.
Jovovich said that a big part of the horror-action film franchise’s success was due to the fans of "Resident Evil" all over the world -- including the Philippines.
"I absolutely cannot wait to go to the Philippines. I have so many great Filipino followers on Twitter who I love to talk to,” she said.
“I'm so interested in going to that part of that world, because it's someplace I've never been, so maybe when my daughter grows up a little bit more,” she added.
The four previous "Resident Evil" movies have earned a total of more than US$675 million, making it the most commercially successful film series based on a videogame.
"Absolutely not,” Jovovich said, when asked if she had anticipated the massive success of the series.
“I love the video games, it was something I played with my little brother, and so I thought, ‘Oh, wouldn't it be cool to be the girl from 'Resident Evil'?’ Because my brother would be the king of his school,’” Jovovich said.
“Resident Evil: Retribution" will be shown in the Philippines starting September 12.
